The market features live music, special events, and bistro tables to enjoy some of the fine prepared foods and coffee sold by our vendors. Master Gardeners provide educational programs, answer gardening questions and help run the market.

The Riverside Farmers Market is always looking for new vendors. To qualify, you must be selling locally-grown produce or another local agricultural commodity raised by you in accordance with sustainable farming methods.

The Board of Trustees of the Chattahoochee Nature Center invites you to their annual “Rockin’ at the River Gala” on Saturday, May 11, 2013. This beautiful natural setting along the river in Roswell sets the stage for this year’s benefit gala for the nature center. The party kicks off at 7:30 pm, but Patrons and Sponsors will come an hour earlier to enjoy an exclusive VIP Reception, including a live musical performance on the Plaza at 6:30 pm, complete with passed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails.

The main event kicks off in Kingfisher Hall with signature cocktails served to each guest as they arrive at 7:30 pm, dressed for the season in spring chic attire. Guests can mix and mingle while enjoying the fabulous food, great music and cocktails from the open bar. An extensive Silent and short Live Auction and other surprises provide additional treasures and fun. This party is perfect for nature or music lovers as well as all those ‘movers and shakers’; our talented musicians create a rockin’ good time for all of our guests who dance to the light of the moon. Live music continues throughout the evening as guests migrate through the beautifully landscaped and lighted gardens to the Ben Brady Lakeside Pavilion for delectable desserts and more dancing to a rockin’ band on the water front. In the pavilion, the glam décor is enhanced by the addition of hundreds of twinkling lights reflecting the natural starlight on the water.

Proceeds from the gala provide crucially important operating funds for the Center’s environmental learning programs, horticulture and wildlife services. The gala also helps promote the mission of the Chattahoochee Nature Center to an ever expanding audience of local and corporate leaders. CNC is the Southeast’s oldest and largest, private, non-profit natural science learning center, located at 9135 Willeo Road along the Chattahoochee River in Roswell. With its unique Gold level LEED Certified Discovery Center, it serves as the interpretive center for the entire Chattahoochee River; connecting visitors by helping them understand their role in protecting this critical resource thereby empowering them to positively impact their local environments. The Inaugural Roswell Beer Festival benefiting STAR House Foundation will be held Saturday May 11th in the parking lot adjacent to Pastis Restaurant located at 928 Canton Street in Roswell.

STAR House will be hosting the Beer Festival just at the corner of Magnolia and Canton Street, a prime location with access to an array of delectable restaurants to enjoy before of after you have your fill of beer tastings. STAR House is trying to rally a number of food trucks to be in attendance to add an extra fun element of surprise to downtown Roswell that we have yet to see on a regular basis.

Roswell is not only becoming a foodie town but a source for undiscovered and talented singers, songwriters, musicians and bands.  Kicking off the event will be Cameron Kane from 12 – 2 PM, followed by the featured band, The Bruce Jones Band, from 2- 5 PM.

In 2013, the Colors Festival of Arts will celebrate its 23nd year of presenting this community event that has become a traditional way for many families to celebrate “Mom.” Only fitting, since many of the Roswell Junior Women’s Club members who put on this event are mothers themselves. Mother’s Day Weekend of 2013 will bring lots of “colors” to the historic Town Square. The event will be held May 11th and 12th from 10am to 6pm in the Historic Roswell Town Square.

The beautiful flowers of spring will combine with beauty created from sparkling glass, an array of paintings, photography, captivating jewelry, whimsical sculptures and a wide array of original arts and crafts the entire family will find enjoyable.

Sponsored by the Roswell Junior Woman’s Club the event is their major fundraiser for the year, with proceeds going back into community projects and causes they sponsor.

Artists and craftsmen arrive from areas around the Southeast, joining with Roswell and North Fulton artists to present a magnificent show. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day and ranges from Storytelling to vocalists, instrumentalists to dance performances. An array of festive food vendors are on hand to satisfy the appetite.

GA 400 Hospitality Highway Century 2012 will be the fourth edition as GA 400 is temporarily closed for this popular event!

The ride starts at exit 7 of Georgia Route 400, and will wind through Sandy Springs, Milton, Roswell, Johns Creek, Alpharetta, and other scenic areas of North Fulton. There are 9-mile, 23-mile, 60-mile, and 100-mile options.

The 100 mile ride is over 8500 feet of climbing up short steep hills that build your base strength! Perfect training for that fall triathlon, or that late season race, or maybe you just want to burn over 8700 calories! The 60 Mile ride also ascends 5500 feet and will climb the “Three Sisters” same as the 100 milers do. The Three sisters are three short climbs near the end of the ride in Roswell. You will have cheering fans as you pedal squares up the Big Sister in Mountain Park and Middle Sister as you pound your way through Wildwood Springs and finally you will roll up the Little Sister in Waverly Hall. Look for the local kids to have lemonade stands as an excuse to stop or use the cheers of neighbors to help you up the hill

The start/ finish point is located in the former Home Depot parking lot, next to the Publix, in the Kings Market shopping center, in Roswell. The exact address is:

• Registration for all riders will open at 5:15 a.m.
• Anyone who arrives after 6:00 a.m. will not be allowed to ride on GA 400.
• Exiting the start point and entering Ga. 400:

  • Turn left onto Ga. 400 South
• All persons involved with the ride – cyclists, fans, volunteers, staff, etc. – should only park their vehicles in the former Home Depot parking lot, NOT in front of Publix. Additional parking will also be available in the former Comp. USA parking lot, located off of Market Blvd., in the same shopping center.

Show your patriotism by celebrating our Country’s Independence Day in Roswell with entertainment and a breathtaking fireworks display. This year’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at Roswell High School located on King Road off of SR 92.

Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. and includes the following performances:

Moby, a popular local radio personality, will emcee the event and there will be activities for the children. At dark, a beautiful 30-minute fireworks display will be the highlight of the evening.

Roswell Georgia is home to the largest Memorial Day celebration in the state of Georgia. Each year, folks gather on the lawn of Roswell City Hall to honor those who have given their lives to protect our freedoms.

Displays are open to the public starting at 10 am. The military ceremony begins at 11 am, and by 12:45 picnic lunches appear and the music of Banks and Shane fill the air.

In 1997, twelve patriotic individuals came together to create a truly unique Memorial Day event; a non-political, non-commercial ceremony honoring veterans and the sacrifices they made in protecting our freedom. That first ceremony attracted approximately 1,800 individuals. From that humble beginning, came the Roswell Memorial Day Ceremony, an event which attracts approximately 6,000-7,000 people from throughout Georgia and the southeast.

City of Roswell residents will be able to securely dispose of personal documents on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 8 a.m. until noon (earlier if the truck fills up before noon) at the Roswell Public Works facility, 1810 Hembree Road. This free event even allows document destruction viewing to ensure safe disposal and peace-of-mind for participants.

Examples of sensitive documents include old tax returns, junk mail with personal information, dated documents with personal information, dated pay stubs with personal information, etc. There is a limit of five boxes or 200 pounds of paper per vehicle.

The event is sponsored by Georgia Document Destruction, Inc., the Roswell Recycling Center and Keep Roswell Beautiful.
