2016 Sunset Sips scheduled performers are:

Apr 28, 2016 (Thu) 6:30 pm — 9:30 pm
Sunset Sips: Wes Yoakam
April’s performer is Wes Yoakam, who will be sure to have you on your feet and singing, or at least bobbing your head along to some of the best acoustic covers of everything from current pop to classic rock. His tunes will bring you notes of Peter Gabriel, Tom Petty, U2, and more. Wes began his professional music career in the fertile music ground of Athens, GA. The band sold out the local 1000 seat Georgia Theatre consistently and toured the country from Georgia to New York to Colorado to Michigan and back again. After an 8 year run as an entertainer in the world’s greatest ski bar: “The Club” in Vail, Wes returned to Atlanta and has set up FS Studios and is working on producing and recording area artists. He can now be found producing tracks for Atlanta area artists out of his new FS Studios in East Atlanta and playing around the Atlanta area as a solo and ensemble artist. May 26, 2016 (Thu) 6:30 pm — 9:30 pm
Sunset Sips: Sainte Jane
May’s performer is Sainte Jane, which is the lovely two piece band – Lauren St. Jane and Jeremy Ezell. Their performances will bring you notes of Lucinda Williams, Linda Rondstat, and Bonnie Raitt. From the southern roots of Georgia comes Lauren St. Jane with her own combination of country swagger and Americana rock. This fiery, female-fronted band offers a raw sound complimented by strong, alluring vocals, ripping licks, and lyrics you’d expect from a true redhead. In both song and sound, Lauren St. Jane is a collective drink that goes down smooth but leaves a beckoning burn for more – a classic country shot with a modern Americana aftertaste. Jun 23, 2016 (Thu) 6:30 pm — 9:30 pm
Sunset Sips: Crooked Wits
June’s performer is Crooked Wits. The members of Crooked Wits originally met in Clinton, South Carolina at Presbyterian College. Stevie was a quarterback, Maggie was a soccer star, and Spencer…well, he sang in the choir.  While we all came from different backgrounds, we quickly bonded over our love for music.  They played together as much as they could for anyone who’d listen and during the summers we all lived in Black Mountain, North Carolina.  It was there, in the mountains of Western North Carolina, where Crooked Wits truly got its start. Influences of the band include Van Morrison, Dave Matthews, and Old Crow Medicine Show. Check them out at http://www.crookedwits.com/

Jul 14, 2016 (Thu) 6:30 pm — 9:30 pm
Sunset Sips: Garrett Douglas
July’s performer is solo performer Garrett Douglas. Garrett’s young talent is striking as he expertly delivers originals and covers of bands of today and yesterday. Favorites include everything from Hall & Oates and The Beatles to The White Stripes and Jack Johnson. Garrett’s voice and guitar strumming covers so many genera – he’s bound to strike a chord with you. Check him out at https://soundcloud.com/garrett_dean_douglas

(*Please note, July’s event is occurring on the 2nd Thursday instead of the 4th Thursday).

Aug 25, 2016 (Thu) 6:30 pm — 9:30 pm
Sunset Sips: City Mouse
August’s performing band is City Mouse. City Mouse is the collective spirit of Atlanta-based talent, Brian Revels, Jenna Mobley, and Michael Hudgins. Born in the latter part of 2012, City Mouse is a spawn of too many nostalgic nights of conversations about a shared sense of appeal for the Americana movement. This young Atlanta folk band will make sure you have a great time, every time. With a mixture of instruments from this trio including the banjo, guitar, standup bass, and fiddle, they are a foot-stomping good time. Check them out at http://citymousemusic.com/about/

Sep 22, 2016 (Thu) 6:30 pm — 9:30 pm
Sunset Sips: Old Chattanooga
September’s performing group is Old Chattanooga. Just like the band’s name, Old Chattanooga has the old sound of traditional folk music. The band features the talented Micah Spence on fiddle, and his sound will take you back in time to the days of foot stompin’ and front porch sittin’. Get ready to kick up your heels, strut and spin, and get back to the roots of music with this timeless band. Check them out at https://oldchattanooga.bandcamp.com/album/downer-spence
